Liposuction

Liposuction, also called lipoplasty, Liposculpture, or suction assisted lipectomy, removes deposits of excess fat from specific areas of your body. For example, it can slim your hips and thighs, flatten your abdomen, reshape your waist, or eliminate a double chin.

Liposuction is particularly well suited for men and women who have relatively normal weight but isolated areas of fat that cause their body to appear disproportionate. These localized fat deposits may sometimes be an inherited trait and typically do not respond to diet and exercise. Liposuction is often the only way to eliminate them.Breast Reduction

Liposuction is also very popular among men, particularly for eliminating bulging fat around the waist and breast areas.

Liposuction can be performed on several areas of the body at the same time, and it also can be done in conjunction with other aesthetic plastic surgery.

We have Ultrasonic, Tumescent, Tulip [syringe], and Traditional suction techniques available at the Anderson Plastic Surgery Center.

Dr. Anderson has been performing liposuction surgery for over 20 years and has safely done several thousand procedures. It is very important to discuss with your surgeon the risks and possible complications of this surgery. Unfortunately, many physicians doing suction surgery at this time do not have adequate training or experience. Be careful and make sure to ask about training, experience and results!

ULTRASONIC LIPOSUCTION

Ultrasonic assisted lipoplasty, commonly known as UAL, is a liposuction technique that uses sound waves to liquefy unwanted fat. UAL can be an effective tool for removing fat from fibrous body areas such as male breasts or the back, or for removing large volumes of fat in a single procedure. Dr. Anderson combines UAL with traditional and ultrasonic liposuction when indicated.

The best candidates for UAL are generally no different than candidates for the traditional liposuction procedures. UAL candidates should be physically healthy, psychologically stable, and realistic in their expectations. Age is usually not a criteria for liposuction.

UAL is normally safe when patients are carefully selected, the operating facility is properly equipped, and the physician has completed an appropriate hands-on UAL training course.

Dr. Anderson has extensive experience with the use of UAL and also more than 20 years of experience with traditional liposuction and tumescent liposuction techniques. Dr. Anderson performs the majority of his UAL, SAL and tumescent suctioning techniques in his fully accredited office based surgical facility. Dr. Anderson also has surgical privileges at the Scottsdale Health Care Hospitals and outpatient surgical centers. If large volumes of fat are removed occasionally a stay in an overnight nursing facility may be advised.
